Popcorn really does pop on trees.

Seriously I LOVE Spring! These trees right outside our building are amazing! They are beautiful and smell soo good too. I love walking outside and seeing them. In a few weeks they will be gone but that only means that summer is getting closer :)

Easter 2011

For Easter this year we decided to head up to western Massachusetts! The Berkshires really are beautiful. The drive up there was all foggy but when the sun came through it was amazing. There were little streams running along the roads and lakes all over the place. I am still in love with the fact that grass is so abundant here! I know this is silly to most people but i love seeing it on the hillsides and in all the yards. We went to church up there. Danny served in this area for a few months while he was on his mission so we got to see some old friends of his. The weather was awesome and we ended up just playing outside during church. Afterwards we stopped at the Darger's family farm. I think we want to have a farm.....soon! We had an Easter egg hunt in their barn. Merrick kept asking where the horses, cows and chickens were because thats who lives in barns..duh!

A quick update

We went to the movies together for the first time as a family. Of course we had to see HOP. I love taking Merrick to the movies. It's so great to see him get excited about the "big tv screen" and eating popcorn. It was especially fun because Daddy got to sit next to him too! The theater right by our house is awesome! No one is ever there. You can show up 15 minutes late and still get great seats.

Its been really nice out the past week so Merrick has been learning to ride his scooter! He hasn't quite figured out how to turn the wheel yet but thats ok. It's one of those scooters where its nearly impossible to crash....unless you jump off. I guess we need to get him a helmet asap!

Danny and I got to go see Wicked!!! It was great! I had never seen it before and had no idea what to expect but it was so fun. Thanks to Aunt Marilyn who got us awesome seats up close and for watching Merrick for us :) Speaking of that, Marilyn, Kim and Maryn came to visit at the beginning of April. Why I have no pictures is bizarre! The first night we went to Bill's Burger {which we love} and then Friday we went to the Museum of Natural History. That place is huge!! You could spend a couple days in there. We then hit up FAO Schwarz and Crumbs! It was sad to see them leave. Merrick still remembers the stories Grammy's sister told him at night about Buddy Logs{aka Goldilocks} and he asks me to tell it to him every night just like she did. I guess I need to look up that story because I dont really remember it. Anyways we loved having them here with us!!

We like to eat our snacks outside now! I can't tell you how beautiful it is to just sit by the water and watch boats go by and enjoy the warmth!

Merrick and the Dentist

Merrick kept saying his teeth hurt so I took him to see the dentist. I never imagined taking a two year old to the dentist, probably because I knew it would not go well. Anyways this special trip to the dentist was awesome!!! He did amazing and listened to everything they told him to do. He got three xrays which luckily showed he didn't have any cavities and they were able to clean his teeth. The best part...spitting in the "little sink" at the very end.

All the assistants kept coming in and laughing saying how cute he was in the chair all relaxed with his hands behind his head!

{Family Pictures 2010}

We took family pictures in Arizona over our Christmas visit. Once again Chea {Danny's sister} did a fabulous job! When your husband and son start spitting at the camera...you know your in trouble. She is amazing and I can't wait to see her in May! These pictures remind me of warmer times and how much I love sunny weather. I'm looking forward to the day when I can walk outside without a jacket. Can you arrive any sooner Spring?!

Bowling in Times Square

Last weekend we went bowling with the Wellings! We went to this awesome bowling alley in Times Square. By far the coolest one I have ever been too...and the most expensive! They have different lanes dedicated to all the neighborhoods here. We were in the Art Deco part. I realized while we were waiting that Danny and I have never been bowling together. Weird. Addie and Merrick were lucky and got to use the bumpers when it was their turn. Those would have come in handy a few times for me! As soon as someone was done, Merrick would ask if it was his turn yet and go running up there. In the end he beat me!
