{Fun in the Sun}

Friday we went to the BEACH!!! It was a nice break from the heat here. We took the train out to Long Beach on Long Island. It was Merricks 2nd time at the beach and he absolutely loved it! He brought his only toy...his tractor to dig with! You can tell he loves it cause its in every picture! We found some shells, I saw a crab, Danny saw some big fish and Merrick destroyed every attempt to build a castle. We had a great time!

Home Sweet Home

I've promised a few people I would show pictures of where we live. The place is great but it has its negatives. Like the fact that its on the 5th floor of a walk-up...meaning we have to walk up and down five flights of stairs everytime we wanna go somewhere or do something! I almost died the day we brought our suitcases up the stairs. Also we live in Chinatown right now til August! And guess what, they love to cook their food 24/7. Its not the best smell in the world either. Good thing I brought my ScEnTsY candle! We are renting this place furnished so thats why there may be some "unique' things in the pictures.

A Statue and a Target

Yesterday we took the Ferry to Staten Island! On the way we passed Ms. Liberty herself! It was exciting to see but not what I was expecting at all. It was a little smaller than all the movies make it out to be.

We were in desperate need of diapers so we ventured to Target in Brooklyn ! It felt just like the ones in AZ. I knew exactly where to go for once. I bought a little more than diapers cause I felt right at home :)

Fathers Day

Yesterday we went to see where Danny will be going to school! Its right by the NYC Temple so we stopped in to take a break from the world. It was very relaxing! I love Merrick's face in the picture too. The boy becomes more like his dad every day!

New York New York

We made it to New York!!! Let me tell you, this CITY is huge! I'm starting to get the hang of figuring out where the heck I am. We arrived here last Tuesday. It was Merricks first time on an airplane and he did really good. I didnt even have to break out the benedryl. Have you seen that McDonalds commerical where the man says "my luggage went to the Bahamas and i didnt"...yeah that happened to us. Our luggage went to LaGuardia airport and we went to Long Island. Long story...but we were reunited with our 8 suitcases {which contains all we own right now}. So for the last seven days we have been walking here and there and everywhere to find a place to live. We finally found something. I will post more about that once we move in. On about day 3 of walking and carrying Merrick i started seriously looking for a stroller. It wasnt til today {at last} that I got one! Our hotel is in Times Square {literally right out the window of our 20th floor room} and it never gets quiet or dark. We did go to Crumbs though {probably as good as Sprinkles} and today I caved and went to H&M after passing by it 40 times. We have seen so many interesting people and places in the one week we have been here so Im sure theres lots more to come! I will post the pictures we have taken tomorrow once I can dig through the bags and find everything!

P.S. In case you were wondering...Merrick has seen lots of tractors driving up and down the roads here :)
