{All Packed Up}

Merrick has his backpack all packed for his trip to Arizona....next summer! He put all of his favorite toys and snacks in there so he can show his cousins. I try everyday to convince him to take them out but he insists on leaving them in there so he doesn't forget. I told him we could make a list of what's inside so we remember all the right toys and that he won't be able to play with them for almost a year if he doesn't take them out. We are going on day 5 now...

The Pumpkin Blaze

The same day we went apple picking we also stopped by the Pumpkin Blaze. The first time I heard it, I had no idea what it even was. Well, it turned out to be pretty cool. Its kind of like a not so scary haunted house. Perfect for Merrick! It's at this old manor and there are somewhere around 4000 carved pumpkins. Up close we could tell that some were fake...they had to be! There was just too many of them. As you wander through the path you get to see all sorts of pumpkins. They shape them into cool designs like sunflowers, dinosaurs, a fish aquarium, a graveyard and even life size pirates! That night was the first real night that it was cold after dark so it really felt like Halloween time!!

Apple Picking

Saturday we went apple picking for the first time. It was a success! We went with the Wellings to this cute little farm up in Salem and spent the day doing all these fun autumn activities. We obviously picked a bunch of apples, went on a tractor ride, checked out the pumpkin patch, ate the best apple cider donuts and enjoyed the beautiful outdoors. This is something I hope to do every year because we all had fun! It was the perfect way to start the month of October. Now I just have to figure out what to do with all these apples?!
