JuLy Catchup

So since i havent had time to blog about all the things we did this month...i'll post ONE BIG RECAP!!! warning: this may be long.


FoUrTh of JuLy
For the fourth of July, Merrick and I headed up to UtAh for the Howard M. Arnett ReUnIoN!!! We caravaned up there with Wendy and Heidi driving. Brittany and I went without our husbands :) We all had alot of fun...good food, great entertainment and perfect weather OH and of course ThRiFt StOrEs along the way! Danny's aunt recreated the kids hometown with games and prizes and she did a great job! On the way home we stopped to do some FiShIn....aka the kids got naked and played in the water! I didnt take alot of pics of this trip for whatever reason and the ones i did were mostly of Merrick...of course :)

WeECh FaMiLy ReUnIoN!
During PiOnEeR day/weekend my grandma's family had a big reunion down in Pima! That was alot of fun too! Once again awesome food from the CaSa and funny dancing and skits always makes for a good time! Merrick and I drove down with my sister in her new car...however on SaTurDay I was driving to go pick her up at a friends house and out of the blue this van tries to turn right from the far left lane. We got caught in the middle and next thing ya know....im bawling on the side of the road with Merrick giving the cops my side of the story. Everyone was fine but her car was not. We had to rent a car, luckily the owner of the only car rental place down there was a relative and at the reunion! Saturday afternoon we got to be in the parade!!! My grandmas sister Verla handcrafted our float and it was awesome! She had all the kids,grandkids,great grandkids, great-great grandkids and even great-great-great grandkids names on the float! Talk about time and effort! I stole some pics from my cousins blogs...

Merrick got his first black eye on Friday. He tripped over my own feet and hit his head on the coffee table. I think he was stunned when it happened cause he didnt cry too much. My mom and I jumped in the car with him and rushed him to the office to make sure he didnt need stitches. Luckily he didnt, just a steristrip for a few days.

Danny got a new car!!! I guess you can say he got an UpGrAdE :)

This is Merrick's happy dance...we stopped at my moms house to pick something up and he went outside with my dad...next thing i know he's swimming naked in the pool...haha!

This is just a preview of our last weekend...we had yet another FaMiLy ReUnIoN!! This time it was my side of the family. More pics and details of all the exciting things that happened to come! Merrick was so funny with his lollipop. He screamed so loud when i threw it away!

CaMpInG

This past weekend we went to the BuSbY reunion @ CyClOnE LaKe! It was Merrick's first time camping so that was an adventure in itself. We had so much fun...fishing, playing in the lake, eating, chit chatting and of course at the AuCtIoN! Merrick was a handful...he wouldnt let me or Danny out of his sight. The BaBy HoGs ((love you girls)) did a great job though :) This was only my second time going to this reunion and this year it was at a private lake so it was really nice! I love learning about Danny's family...theres a lot of them so theres a lot to learn!

Swimmin

Last SaTuRdAy we went swimming for the first time this SuMMeR! and the WaTeR was soo nice. It was MeRRiCk's first time ever swimming and im pretty sure he enjoyed it...it took some convincing but he ended up loving it!

Merrick turned 1 yesterday! I cant believe it....the year seriously flew by. He has been such a blessing in our lives and are grateful he was sent to us. His personality is so sweet and you cant help but feel happy when he is around. Love you Merrick!

To celebrate....we went to the dollar store and got balloons! Took a nice nap, played with the basketball and had cupcakes.

JuNe UpDaTe

Since June is gone I thought I would update you on what we have been doing! To start, Danny has been in summer school...yes i did post last month that he graduated but these are just a few make up classes and he will be done at the end of JuLy! Lately we have been addicted to LOST! We have stayed up wayy too late some nights watching the seasons on DVD. My boss at work has all of them and we are trying to finish up season 2 cause i already have season 3 waiting! Im still working part time and having fun with Merrick. He keeps me busy. Im pretty sure he is making up for being such a calm and quiet baby! Speaking of him, he walks now! He has been for the past month. And man can it be funny to watch . Sometimes he looks like a robot trying move across the room. His latest activites include spilling dish soap all over the kitchen, finding a tums and then eating it while I was in the shower, trying to pinch a cricket with his fingers, slipping in a puddle of water I left while trying to get the tums out of his mouth, pulling out every pot and pan I own and the list goes on and on! I think im in for a fun time these next few years :) He is definately a little boy!

Im very excited for JuLy!!! Here are a few things im looking forward to.
- FoUrTh of JuLy...not sure what/where we will be but i still love it!
- MeRRiCk turns the BIG 1!!!
- Danny is DONE with school
- BiG BrOtHer starts
- Going to the LaKe
- Camping for the first time with Merrick
- Pima/Pioneer Reunion
