I'm not sure what the deal was with all the natural disasters this past week but we survived! Our apartment was located in "Zone A" so that meant we had to evacuate for the hurricane on Saturday. We waited til the last minute to leave Battery Park City and it was quite the site to see no cars on the street and no people out and about. That alone was probably once in a lifetime! Some friends in the ward were kind enough to let us stay at their place {which is in the new Gehry building, you have to see it! The exterior is all wavy and the inside is amazing, especially the golf simulator.} We hung out there while the hurricane hit and then went home on Sunday afternoon. There was no damage to our building and minimal flooding around.
The city in the background before it started raining.
Tower 1 at the World Trade Center
A couple hours later...
All the trains stopped running which has never happened because of weather.
The last of the clouds moving out!
