Surfing at Long Beach

Last Friday {right before Irene came to visit} we headed out to Long Beach with some friends. I think the real reason was so that the boys could surf but sitting on the beach is always fine with me! I have to admit that it was kind of a weird feeling being out there knowing that a huge hurricane was coming our way but it really was beautiful out there! They had built up these huge hills of sand to block the walkways and prevent flooding in the streets. It was a 3 year old's dream! Merrick spent half of his beach time up on top of these sand hills.
