While you were sleeping

I saw this project on the blog Tatertots and jello and knew I wanted to try it. I love Chevron patterns and lucky for me, they are really popular right now! I found the perfect opportunity Saturday afternoon to try it. Merrick and Danny both took extra long naps so I had plenty of time :) On one of our weekend adventures I picked up a white plate {well two actually just in case I messed up} at the dollar store. Next we stopped at  Michaels for the ceramic paint. Lucky for me again that is was only .89! I had everything else so it ended up being a pretty cheap project.

Here is what I did:
I printed out the chevron pattern and cut it out. If you are lucky you can use a cricut or sillouette machine but I did it the old fashioned way....with scissors.
Next I traced the pattern with pencil onto the plate. Since I was using black paint I went over the lines with a black sharpie. I wouldn't recommend this if you are using any other color besides black :)
Then I filled in every other line with my paint. It took me a few times to figure out the best way to paint it on there but after that...its pretty easy and quick! Once you are done, let it dry for an hour then put it in the oven for 30 minutes.

It is nowhere near perfect and the lines are a bit off but it was a pretty easy project! I think it would look cute with some fun colors for Spring!
